A 1:1 holistic physical therapy experience

Caitlin provides a completely personalized physical therapy experience in Boulder Coloado, the mecca of endurance sports. On top of a thorough physical examination, she analyzes movement patterns of her patients to uncover the root cause of their pain. She believes that you leave a piece of the puzzle on the table if you don’t watch your patients move!

Caitlin uses a variety of manual treatment interventions to address pain and dysfunction and help patients maintain healthy tissues including functional dry needling, IASTM, cupping, soft tissue mobilization, trigger point release therapy, joint mobilizations and manipulations, and kinesiotaping. She is also big on getting her patients up and moving after manual treatment to rewire motor patterns and improve stability, strength and overall function.

Caitlin utilizes principles of 3D movement patterns to create individuated assessment, treatment and home exercise plans. She has worked with recreational to professional athletes and Olympians. While she primarily sees and treats sports-related injuries, she treats all other musculoskeletal injuries as well.

Caitlin is passionate about sports medicine and has a particular interest in treating hip/pelvic and foot/ankle disorders. She spent her final clinical rotation working with the hip preservation team at the University of Colorado Sports Medicine and Performance Center in Boulder.

She also spent the last four years working as a physical therapist and biomechanics specialist at BUILD Sports Performance Lab in Louisville, Colorado. She worked with athletes and active individuals of all levels from a rehab standpoint, and provided 3D motion capture running gait and cycling analyses.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you located?

My clinic Hü Performance is located at 1105 Spruce Street, one block from the famous Pearl Street in downtown Boulder, CO. I am located on the first floor of a beautiful historic house!

Do you accept insurance?

I am a cash-based, out-of-network provider, meaning that I do not have contracts with any insurance companies. Cash is expected at the time of service. If you have “out-of-network” benefits with your insurance provider, I can provide you with a Superbill to submit to your insurance company for eligible reimbursement. I also accept HSA, HRA and FSA payments, which are arrangements set up with your insurance company or employer to cover “out-of-pocket” medical costs.

Why are you cash-based?

I choose not to enter into contracts with insurance companies with low reimbursement rates. This allows me to keep my costs low and focus on spending 1:1 quality time with my patients to provide the highest quality of care. In many cases, out of pocket costs will be LESS than at an in-network provider because you will typically need to be seen for less visits.

Do I need a referral from my doctor?

No. Colorado is a direct-access state, meaning you do not need a referral from your physician to see a physical therapist. In many cases, you can save money and get in to be seen sooner if you go directly to see a PT!

Can you order imaging?

Yes. In the state of Colorado, a licensed physical therapist can order diagnostic imaging, including X-Ray and MRI.

How often do I need to be seen for physical therapy at Hü Performance?

Most patients are seen weekly or once every 2-3 weeks, depending on their goals and the severity of their conditions. Patients who are dealing with an acute, debilitating injury or pain are typically seen once a week, while patients with less severe diagnoses are seen once every 2-3 weeks. Patients who come in for prehab/preventative care or general maintenance typically come in once a month as needed. We can discuss a treatment schedule that works best for you at your initial visit!
